In each performance, Huairapungo, ” Door of the Wind ” projects the essence, customs, feeling of the Ecuadorian people, and nostalgia for the distant land; The diverse and colorful costumes coupled with the cheerful melodies that accompany their dances complement the representation of a proud and vibrant culture. Their repertoire consists of mythological dances such as “Diablo Huma”, “Sacharunas” and “Kallpa”; contemporary dances such as “Fachalinas”, “Arco Iris” and “Abagos” just to mention a few dances that embody traditions, legends, and situations of everyday life.
